Hey guys

I can get the ATI 4870 1 Gig for the same price i can get a GTX260 Core 216...

Now i read reviews, and it appears that the Core 216 is better, (by a few frames, except crysis where it shines)

Now im leaning towards the NVidia as it has better drivers, looks better, and cause most games favour nvidia.

Should i go for the GTX 260 216 or should i stick with getting the 4870...?

if you can get the GTX 260 216 for the same price? Go for it. True... true nVidia does shine in alot of games. I say get it.

Defiantly the Core 216 ONLY if it's at the same price.

The game i mostly care about is Call of Duty 4 and CoD world at war.

Im gonna get crysis warhead and gears of war (I think ill get GoW on XBox though...)

So
CoD 4
CoD World at War
Crysis Warhead

(Mostly care about CoD, crysis is more of a nice to have type game, whereas im really into CoD, and i hear the ATI outshines the core 216...)

Which of the 2 card sshine in those games...

Both of those cards will crush Call of Duty and do very well with Crysis. What ever card you choose you will be happy with the performance:) I had an eVGA 9800GTX and played Call of Duty 4 on a 22" Samsung wide screen @ 1680x1050 with every graphic option maxed and I would average between 50 and 80 FPS with a fantastic picture!

The only thing I would worry about is your power supply...make sure you check what your 12v rail puts out for amps. The GTX 260 needs a total of 36 amps. I looked at a few sights with the PSU in your sig and none of them told me what the amps rating is coming off your 12v rail. ATI recommends at least 32 amps to run the 4870. Just something to think about when you make your choice.

////I just ordered a eVGA GTX 260 core 216 Superclock edition, be here any day////

If they're the same price, go for the core 216. Even if average FPS is similar, the Nvidia card tends to have less variance and is more consistent.

This is coming from an AMD/ATI fanboy. =P

oh most definatly. Im gonna get a Corsair TX750, so i can have room to crossfire/sli... and so that the PSU isnt running full power all the time = more efficiency, cooler PSU, and therefore cooler case (it can take out more heat)

So the GTX 260 is better that the 4870 in CoD's?

You sure about that cause that is the games i most care about, with crysis being just an eye-candy game for me
