You're kidding....that's respectable though.
Nope, came with the laptop when I bought it last year. Honestly people think you need a dual core, 4GB of RAM, and dedicated video in order to run Vista, honestly though it runs fine on a low-end single core, 1GB of RAM, and any new integrated video.

So which one did you choose? I would have chosen option 1 personally..and it looks damn tempting :P
Are the new EEE's powerful enough to run aero?

I agree with Omega, You don't need a great machine to run Vista. I ran Vista just fine on my old P4 3.0ghz with 1.5gb of ram.

I'm sure the OS runs fine itself, but once you start opening up programs, it will beg for mercy.

omega, then are you ever going to use XP on it? if not, then would it be alright if you let me have your Eee XP disc (or burn a copy, but not sure if it's legal, even though they should have the same drivers)? mine only came preloaded with linux and it's so basic and simple that it's boring me. i really don't want to spend another $100 just for another OS for a $300 laptop.

after installing all your programs on there, can you report back there if there's any lag of if your Eee feels sluggish with vista?

I chose option 3. The extra inch and 6-cell battery definitely made it worth it!

It didn't come with an OS disc, it just has a restore partition on the computer which I already deleted when I installed Vista.

Well I have a Windows XP Home install CD anyways, so if I decide I want XP I'll just use that with the CD key that is on the bottom of the netbook.
