Is there any noticable difference in speed of ddr2 800 with 4-4-4-12 vs ddr2 1066 5-5-5-15?

Is there any any noticable difference in speed of 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-15 timing?

with the old ddr I could see a good bump with tight timings / low CAS. Made a mistake purchasing some Corsair 'gaming' memory for $350 (1gb) that was high CAS and it was not worth the money. Back then the Kingston HyperX (blue heatsink) was fast.
Thus, I can't say for the new stuff....I buy the lowest CAS / tighter timing I can afford now.

more mhz is better than lower latency. i would get the 1066 ram, as long as ur cpu is compatible.

Those latency numbers are relative to the speed. If they run at maximum, the absolute latency is:

0800 with CL 4: 1/400*4 = 0,0100 ms
1066 with CL 5: 1/533*5 = 0,0094 ms

lower is always better
