Amd fx-62

One of my friends has a FX-62 and is trying to sell it to me. I am really intrested in it but I wanted to know how good it really is? And what price I should spend on it?
 
It was a good processor. About equal to a Athlon 90nm. X2 5600. The FX was the older F2 stepping. Even though its unlocked it didnt overclock as well as the 5600. You can get a new 5600 Brisbane for about 90 bucks. Being used anything under that your willing to spend.
 
I was just wondering because he wants to sell me it for $150. I have seen it being sold for $700-800. Are they just old websites?

STOP!!!

That cpu is $80 tops now.....gettin to be nearly 3 years old now if im not mistaken!!

700-800 bucks...yikes...I dont remember them ever being that much....DAMN.

but yeh...give him like 50 bucks or buy a new one@!!!
 
Like I said the FX was the older F2 stepping, runs warm and didnt overclock all that well. The 90nm. 5600/6000/6400 F3 stepping were better processors.
 
I hadn't talked to my friend today but he had it listed at $450 OBO on craigslist and someone bought it for $400 about 10 minutes ago......
 
That's got to be wrong... If I remember correctly Tiger Direct had the FX 62 at around $1000 when it came out.
