Video Card for a 55" Sony

This is what I am trying to do, hopefully it can be done for a small price.

I want to use an old tower as a type of media center, I have a blue ray drive on this tower.

What type of card do I need to get the proper resolution on my 55"?

When you say 'old tower' makes me think 'old motherboard' too. What type of slots do you have on it for adding a new card?

Well whats your budget? Your options are pretty wide open, although Ive read some issues people have had watching blu-ray movies on low end cards. Someone else can back me up on this but I would think you would be fine with a Geforce 8600 GT which would be pretty cheap and far from overkill.

my budget is probably $75-$120... is that really an overkill budget? I won't be doing ANY gaming on this system....

anything in that area that would be a safe call?

The one I suggested would fall into that budget and would be fine for media center use. Im going to be using the exact same card in my MCE build in the very near future.

Nice thanks, lets say...

what other suggestions do you have for this media center? (trying to keep budget low, tv tuner? would like to record movies)

lol, you've inspired me to start putting some parts together for mine! For Christmas this year Im going to be getting most of the parts fro mine which are as follows:

Tuner Card- http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-119...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228326398&sr=8-1

Remote- http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Vista...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228326468&sr=8-2

I already have a HDD and Ram for it, and im going to use Linux Media Center as my OS so no worries there either. All I need now is to decide what Mobo and Processor to use.
