i just downloaded core temp and i was wondering if 97F/36C is normal of a intel core 2 quad q6600 on a 1 or 2 % load thanks

that temps okay, however im at 3.2Ghz with the same processor and im getting around the same temps as you so maybe re-applying thermal paste could lower them or getting more airflow in your case would help.

But nothing to worry theyre fine temps ;)

My Q6600 (B3 stepping) would idle at that same temp. It's fine.

I thought the B3's were meant to run hot, but that isn't that bad!

Mine idles at about 23c, but around 32c when I've got a load of apps open, so you've got nothing to worry about!

Mike, did you see a difference when going from the Q6600 to the Q9450, you had them both at 3.4Ghz, right?

Join us common folk! :P

lol. It was a bad purchase to begin with. I thought I could get it stable @ 3.8 for 24/7 F@H use. It'll bench at 3.6, but no higher, even with my fancy pants Rampage Formula that I will likely sell to funkysnair.

I am 90% convenienced he sold his soul though to get those temps.

I run 31c idle and 48c at 100% @ 3.2ghz @ 1.35v...Prime95 however I run 55c so no 3.4ghz for me. Still I payed 16 bucks for my cooler so I can't complain...but I can cry that I wont be hitting 3.6ghz.

i cant go any higher than 3.3Ghz on mine because my load temps go over 60c.

might invest in a Tuniq tower,ACTUALY that would make a good xmas present :D

Here's a shot of load temps, which is a bit bigger, so I'll just post a link;

I want to try going for 3.6, maybe more, but I don't think my PSU will handle it.

Gimme a screenshot of the second batch of tests the 80000 if you could. I get a 5-6c increase on that set of tests ^-^

Still how crazy...I was told the performance difference was not worth the price on the TT120 boy was I lied too.

I wanna see 3.6ghz

Well lets say it takes 1.45v to hit 3.6ghz it would take 192w of power on a G0 (give or take a few)

I don't know. I guess there's only one way to find out, Eh.

Second batch? In Prime95?

It may not be the TT, it may just be that I got a good chip.
Well, that's the thing, At the moment, I'm idle using 260watts, and the most I've seen it use is 465watts... So I think I may be Ok.
