Rebuilt my PC w/ new WC!

I completely rebuilt my PC over the past 2 nights, I took apart my previous water cooling setup along with every component inside the case so I could do a thorough cleaning of all the dust, and also rewire everything to improve airflow and looks. I also bought new parts for my water cooling setup to increase the performance/looks, I went with an Apogee GTZ waterblock, MCRES Rev. 2 reservoir, and 1/2" ID tubing.

Here are some before and after shots!

Look how fogged up the old tubing was!

ahh that looks much better, how those temps?

btw that case is HUGE,what is it an Antec 1200?

Thanks! The temps are pretty good, I'll tell you for sure once I overclock it again. And yes, it's an Antec 1200.

While the liquid looks very clear with only a hint of green, that's true to the naked eye in the daylight. But at night when the cathodes are on in my case they glow a bright green.

did you buy clear coolant and add the dye bomb to your desired shade of green?

looks nice

where is the pic of the res?

Can I have your PC?

Thanks :P

Nice work!!!!

Looks really good.

Now time to play more radio :D

And, btw OMEGA, my tower poll is in the ground :D, not sure when the tower is going back on... i think it'll be after xmas :(

Cohen :)

Nice. I don't see why you upgraded your water cooling to begin with, but still looks good. Did you see a temp drop?

Btw, you should move the radiator outside your window :).

he uses swiftech hydrx if i remember correctly
I used distilled water and added two UV green dye bombs. I used Hydrx on my previous setup, but they fogged up the tubing really quickly so I didn't want to use it again.

The res is on the other side of the case, mounted to the side panel.

Thanks :P
haha, sure :P

lol, sure thing Cohen! I don't have an HF rig anyways so no rush :)

Meh, I wanted to rebuild my computer and thought it would make sense to upgrade the watercooling setup while I'm at it.

The radiator is on the back of the case so the case fans blow the air through the radiator.

Looks good Omega, hehe ..You have a Antec 1200 and still managed to fill it up :D
Thanks! And yes, I filled up quite a bit of the case.

hey omega, did you use any biocide in this? only wondering, not sure if those dye bombs have a biocidle property to them or not

No I didn't, just the UV dye bombs. It's only distilled water so I can flush it out if it starts to get funky.

Just add about two drops of povidone iodine into your res.

Its kept my loop clean, i believe I've had it for 8 months. Its just as clean as the day i put it in.

Looks GREAT btw! I think I'm getting the GTZ whenever i rebuild by loop, or go i7 :)

I'll look into it, thanks. The GTZ is great, it was a good upgrade from my GT but I'm not sure if it's worth it from the GTX.

I can't stand not being able to use my computer though (power's been out since Thursday night), so I don't even have all my apps installed. :(

what are you using as your WC set up? and did u take out the reservoir during the rebuild.

I took out every computer component and water cooling component, so basically I was started off as if I was building it from scratch. I bled the system out obviously by cutting the tubing and draining all the liquid out (I was trashing the tubing anyways). After I built it I flushed out the system with a gallon of distilled water to get all the green out from the pump and radiator.

This is what is used in the WC setup:

Swiftech Apogee GTZ CPU Waterblock - $62
Swiftech MCRES Micro Rev. 2 Reservoir - $26
Swiftech MCP-655 Water Pump - HAD
Dual 120mm Black Radiator - HAD
Danger Den 1/2"ID High Flow Barbs - $2.50 (each)
PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 1/2"ID 3/4"OD - $2.25/ft.

ok, well how much did you system cost because im looking to build 1 for my next full comp build that will cost me $150 or less, and i have been pointed to the coolkit d4. so i was wondering if u could give me some advice. and were is your reservoir? because i cant find it.

It was about $290 for everything, and the reservoir is on the back side panel of the case.
