Need Help

Ok i need help deciding what kind of cpu to get for my up coming build. And yes i did read through the more recent posts of the Which Cpu to Choose thread. I am going to be building my first gaming computer and i am on some what of a budget. So what would you guys recommend as a decent (2.5ghz+) but cheap (under $200) cpu?

Ps. if i did something wrong by posting this thread here please tell me and i will post this thread or post in the correct place.

well, i'd suggest an intel platform.
a good cpu is the q6600 quad core. it's about $170 i believe on newegg, is quad core, and is pretty fast - there are plenty of people that will vouch for it on here
 
I would also recommend an Intel Quad Core. You can get an Intel Q6600 for about $180 from many online stores. The stock clock is 2.4GHz but it will do everything you will need to do. It is a great overclocker and can be run up around the 2.6 or 2.7 with just a bump of the front side bus. It will fit in your budget and will perform. It is a very popular processor and there is help everywhere for it. Many of the members here also run that processor and can help in the future.

its a decent processor, but a 2.6 oc from stock of 2.4 is great. The q6600 should get up to 3ghz on air cooling. And you up the main bus, not the fsb ;)
