I Need Video Editing software with all the works!

Can anyone find me the BEST video editing software that has a lot of bells and whistles? I need effects sound stuff and all that great stuff. I'm doing a class video soon and I need this program. It can be free or it can be bought. I just need it and I need it quick! Please.. no outrageous replies with software that's like 9999999 Dollars. Thanks!

Adobe premiere cs3 is my favorite. Cs4 is out now though, and im sure thats even better.

Adobe After Effects beats premiere, but it's more advanced and harder to learn, and is more oriented to video effects than simply cutting and merging clips.
