Like for example if I open My Computer, then close it and reopen it, the view will be different. By view I mean List, Details, Small Icons, Medium Icons, etc. It seems like every time I open it, it's different...It's driving me up the wall! Is there a way to stop it from changing?

Click on View at the top and set it to the way you want it. Then close the folder, reopen it and see if it stays that way. Under Folder options make sure that Remember each folder view settings is checked.

HI Strangle,
I don't see the "Remember each folder view" to which you refer. BTW, my machine is remembering the selected view without additonal help.

HI Strangle,
OK, I found it and it is checked. You know, you could be a little more help if you gave better directions. This particular check box is buried in the Control Panel, in Folders, under a Tab and down a list of options. Many folks do not have the confidence to dive that deep into their OS. Good directions would be a big help.

It does not exactly fall off the monitor and land in your lap. I personally did not know that check box existed. It must be checked by default.
