>I have been looking at the Nvidia geforce GTX 280 compared to the ATI 4870 x2 :D but I am not sure which one is best for my needs. Will you please explain what the advantages on the ATI are, and which one i should choose? :P

Well the 4870x2 outperforms the GTX 280 in most benchmark tests. If I were to pick right now In a new build and it had to be one of those cards, I'd go with the 4870x2.

sorry...I took so long to respond..

Both are great cards but I would recommend 4870x2.

I've used a single and 2 in x-fire and they are ridiculously awesome.

p.s..

I like how my name was in the subject!! I feel special now!!

hope that helps..cheers

Okay so the ATI 4870x2 would be the best choice ;P would you need a SLI ready Motherboard to use it ?
:D

Moniter: : LG W2284F-PF size 22 ;D

If you use a single 4870x2...it doesn't matter if you use sli or x-fire board..

If you want to use 2 4870's you will need a board that supports Crossfire not SLI.

2x ATI = Crossfire

2x Nvidia = SLI

okay atm i can only afford 1 ATI 4870x2 :P
and the ASUS P5E Deluxe Ai Lifestyle Series doesn't support Crossfire right ?

Yeah, its a x48 chipset board with crossfire support!!!

BUT too be honest...a single 4870x2 will blow your friggin' mind.

It's already 2 cards in one!!..

I ran duals and it was bananas but the room in your case is gone...cant add much of anything with 2 of them...:))

Okay so one ATI 4870x2 would be the best choice ;D ( 2 would be better but cant afford atm )

is it best to buy it from Asus, Gainward or Sapphire ?

Asus: EAH4870X2/HTDI/2G (2 GB) ?

Sapphire: Sapphire RADEON HD 4870 X2 (Detailsalg) (2 GB) ?

and my case NZXT-Guardian 921 http://www.webdanes.dk/shop/nzxt-guardian-921-1232p.html :D

Okay, well we sell Sapphire and Asus branded cards..

I used Sapphires and they were flawless!!

..I'm not familiar with that chassis though, and I cant find proper specs.

The 4870's are big cards..they take up 2 slots and are quite long.

Maybe you should post in the case section and we'll get you some confirmation on proper fit using the 4870x2 and that chassis.

I'm just not 100% and I'd hate for you to buy the card and find it's too long to fit.

Yepper!!:)
