Do you get excited about computers?

Ok im a nerd i know but I actually get excited about computers. It sounds tupid but i think to myself 'what if i do this and this, and maybe add this in' just the amount of customisation, things you can do with a computer and technology just boggles my mind. I mean hopefully this christmas im getting a new NZXt tempest case for my PC and ive been thinking about it non-stop for ages what to add in and chnage.

Is this normal for computer enthusiasts or am i just a mega nerd?:D
 
the excitment fades when you either build a nice rig that does everything you want it too or if you run outa $
 
I do get excited about them. Thinking about the top quality stuff I'll only be able to buy 6 years after its released.

The way I see it when your PC or network works perfectly with no flaws you sit back and enjoy it for a whole week before you get bored and decide to replace it all or try a new o/s etc.

When it works it's boring!!!
 
I always get excited when we get nice stuff in at work. I enjoy going through the refurbished equipment we get in to see how it looks.

We had one of those HP Touchsmart 22" all-in-ones. My boss wouldn't let me turn it on :(
 
Your not alone my friend, i love technology. And get excited just as you described. I absolutely love going into like Frys Electronics and just checking it all out. I have turned down going to theme parks and other things just to go and play around at Frys. lol
 
I love looking at new computer parts, and i love contests(i was bored so when i entered the $5000 newegg contest i made at least 15 wishlists that were around $5000 LOL). Well, of course i didnt win, but still, i have alot of fun making wishlists(take away the boredom throughout the day).
 
I do get excited while looking at parts and trying to figure out how to fit them in and what will work and what wont. But then I get depressed because I don't have money to buy the setup.

OMG your not the only one! :( I do love technology but i have no money to spend it on!:(
 
Heck, I don't even have a desktop and I'm excited about computers. I've been making lists on what parts to buy, finding deals etc. but when it comes down to money, I come up short. I think this summer will finally be my time, the planets are starting to align. However, the mere idea of making lists of parts, looking at specs. of these parts on the internet and formulating how it will look in my mind is a lot of fun. I fool around on my laptop all the time, turning things on and off to eek out the tiniest performance increases. Computers are a fun hobby.
 
dude i love making wish lists of newegg, tweaking w/ stuff, and when ever some1 mentions a comp, i cant help to go off into nerd mode. this has sadly lost me multiple chances to go out w/ some damn hot girls, so its good and bad.
 
of course i get excited about computers. I just installed a new power supply the other day, and I rearranged the cabling twice and am checking all the temperatures etc etc. I know how it is with computers :)

Yes, i'm the same!

I do lighting and Sound at school, and i love lighting, and i do the same, what if i add this, and then add this light into it, now that is cool, i'm the same, it's good fun!

Used to just spend evening after evening just surfing through newegg making lists of perfect computers. But then I realized that there is no perfect pc because by the next month its out of date and that hobby died. I try and keep myself in check when working on the hardware side of computers, I could easily spend all afternoon (cough, today) working on it, and then the next day Ill be totally bored with nothing to do!
 
I had a customer come into work with a custom machine and I pulled out his EVGA 8800GTS just to look at it and hold it. :D
 
You guys SO sick! I mean, getting exited about a computer? come on...

Just kidding!!!!!!!

yeah, I do get excited, your not alone.
 
I get excited about CPUs, GPUs, mobos, cases, and monitors mainly... RAM, HDDs, PSUs, and disk drives, and fans don't really get me too excited... unless they have a lights on them. :D
