2 $200: HP nx9010 Laptop: INTEL PENTIUM 4 3.06GHZ PROCESSOR, 512MB, 60GB HARD DRIVE
looks the best
my dad ran an
HP running 3.2ghz for 4 yrs no problems till he spilt wine on it lol theres no prob wit it!
Hard to believe, especially since HP has stated to Cnet max battery life is 2hrs on complete idle and manufacturers always stretch this... especially when the battery is brand spanking new.5 hours at low light no sound or disc
HP works on a perfect simulation of the laptops
also it says the MFR is 2.0 hours
AND
it dont say its on idle
First of all, let me quote it " Mfr estimated battery life 2.0 hour(s) "
Like i said, HP reported to cnet battery life = 2 hours
One would assume the laptop is on idle, because if it was carrying a load the battery time would drastically decrease... especially for a single core.
The point is, Pentium 4 is not a good processor for students.
mite need to actually read your own post you orginally said HP STATED that 2 hours was their MAX time but its not TWO hours is MFR time
also Litium Ion Batteries work better after a few recharges i work with that type off batt all the time so i would know.
NEVER JUST ASSUME before trying to attack some one get you FACTS right not assumations
P4 is a great processer like i said my dads ran it in a lappy with no problems out off the two above the HP 3ghz laptop is better
I'd go for the Celeron, it's a newer (and better) architecture which is faster than most P4's at pretty much any clock speed. The lack of heat and decent battery life is a plus too. We have a P4 Sony laptop which can get seriously hot, the battery lasts tops of an hour and it's rather slow. (Slower than a 1.86GHz Celeron laptop that I got for < £300)
They were top of the pile on their day but now, eh.
I am interested in a P4 3.2 ghz laptop that has 5 hour battery, care to give me a model number?
