I have a chance to buy a new HP pavillion dv6171cl laptop.
The site says it can only handle 2gb of ram, but it's only running XP, I was wondering if upgrading to XP64bit or Vista would allow the laptop to support more ram?

I don't know if the ram is soldered in or what not, but is $400 good for a laptop like this, or are there better on the market at a comparable price?
