Mobo symptoms of death?

Put too many cables behind my mobo when I managed them and when I booted up my PSU would restart every 3ish seconds with no video. Changed mobo and CPU and now it works fine. Was the mobo broken? I sent the mobo in today so im hoping thatll solve the problem. Thx for any input

most likely had a short, accidentally shorted my pc with two wires in the molex the other day, just shut down the computer and it restarted(really wouldn't reccommend that)

that was my guess. I just hope my CPU isnt dmged at all
