Hello. Just the other day I installed a graphics card into my computer, an HP Pavilion a510n. The card's an XFX Geforce 6200, AGP 8x (I think my computer's mobo only supports 4x because a piece of the card didn't go into the slot, but the card says it's compatible with 4x and 8x slots) 256MB DDR2.
Installation went well, and I installed driver that came along with the card, but my screen turned out all messed up. Firstly the screen resolution. Everything turned huge, like it would if when windows XP goes into safe mode. I adjusted this, now it's at 1280x1024. Then I adjusted the color quality to highest (32 bits, it was set to medium, 16 bits). Most of things on my computer appears normal (just a bit too small), but the icons and wallpaper are completely messed up.
Firstly, the arrow part of an icon (or example, the msn icon has a small arrow in the bottom corner) doesn't appear- it's replaced by a small black box. The wallpaper looks like a window was dragged right over it while the computer lagged, leaving lots of bits of a window along it. It basically looks shatter-ish. When I click start, all the icons are misalligned, but when I put the cursor over it, it turns back to normal. I wish I could screen print it, but when I do the picture turns out just like the wallpaper. I'll go ahead and post that though, to give an idea of what I mean
Besides the icons and wallpaper, everything is fine. I'm able to play Sword of the New World perfectly (or at least WAY better than before). I'm just a bit worried about the temperature. It's at 50C. So, whats wrong with my card? And thanks in advance.
