Can I use an nVidia card on a Xfire mobo?

I want to replace my dead mobo, and the one I want in particular is a Crossfire one. Currently I have an old (the dead mobo) asus mobo with only one PCIE16 card. I have an nvidia 7600gt, and was wondering if this would work on the new mobo. Not in crossfire configuration obviously, I know thats not going to work :P but I mean will the single nvidia card work?

many thanks!

Any card can work on any mobo 9ie. ATI on SLI and nVidia on crossfire)

But only for single card setup.

If you want dual card (CF/SLI) you have to use ATI/Crossfire and nVidia/SLI

Or get the x58 boards that MOST support both. Like my Rampage 2 it supports both Xfire and SLi. I'm running SLi right now.

It's perfect imo. Because say ATI comes out with a drop dead goregous card that blows nvidia outta the water well you don't have to worry about getting a new mobo or anything like that.
