How do you go about having 2 OS's?

How do you have 2 OS's on your computer i wouldnt mind starting to use Ubunto and Vista anyone help me out on this?

have another partition then install the 2nd OS there. everytime you start your com, it will ask you to boot from either one of the 2.

when u boot from a CD/DVD, it shows a different user interface.
at some point when it ask where to install, there is some option of creating, formatting, deleting or creating a new partition.

other wise right click on my computer(win xp or vista), select 'manage'
it opens u computer management window. select disk management from there, and then u can format/delete or create a new partition.

I have Ubuntu and vista, but I formated a partition on my portable HD and boot ot from that, if that interests you.

Yes i was thinking of doing the exact same thing at the time i was downloading Ubunto but arwell already installed onto my computer so I might do it for my laptop though..
