Hi everyone.

Here is my pc:

Intel Celeron D 346 3066 MHz
ATI Radeon xpress 200
512 RAM

I need more RAM.
I have about £80 and i want to buy Corsair Memory 4GB (2x2).

Is corsair good? And what model would be perfect for me?

P.S.: now i am using win xp 32bit, but i want to change for vista 64bit

Do this go to www.crucial.com and let the website scan your RAM it will tell you what type of RAM you need and give you several options to buy. The nice thing with crucial is that its all high speed RAM for cheaper than anything else (or at least anything that I looked at for my machine).

CRUSIAL gives me information for win xp 32bit (2gb ram maximum), but i want to upgrade for 64bit system and i am looking for 4gb card.

If you can tell me what kind of motherboard you have, I will be able to recommend some RAM for you.

memory - 512mb ddr2-533 sdram

How many RAM slots does the motherboard have?

A lot of older systems have 2 slots, and will only support 2GB of RAM.

i have 2 slots and CRUSIAL says it support only 2gb. but it`s because i use 32 bit system? after i change for 64 bit can i use 4gb RAM?

No the motherboard probably only supports 2GB of RAM. 32 bit OS's support up to 3.5 GB of RAM. You can still upgrade to 2GB of RAM, you'll see a huge difference from 512MB

Now i want to change motherboard :D

If you're going to go that far, than you should consider just saving up some money for a new build.

But get the RAM now it's cheap enough, and it will make a difference.

with a system of that spec you wont see much of a difference between 2gb and 4gb Ram i think. if you change your motherboard you will probably have to upgrade your CPU...then it starts getting expensive... lol..

ya 32bit xp has a memory address space of 2^32 aka 4.2 billion (gb) So 4GB is the limit of all 32 bit OSes (unless using PAE (64GB)but it has its own issues)
So your 32bit limit is 4GB, but you will only see 3GB to 3.75GB due to the hardware on the PC. Because the addressing space for hardware starts at the 4gb range and works downwards. So if you have lots of hardware ... you loose more address space (not ram) and because that address space is taken the ram cant use it.

thats why diff computers show diff amounts.

So x64 gives you 2^64 (thats a big number many many many TB)
