Downgrading from Vista SP1 to XP Pro SP2

Hello everyone! I have a question about downgrading my Vista to XP. I have 2 partitions in my laptop; partition C:/ and D:/. Partition D: is where I store all of my personal files and drivers. My Vista is installed in Partition C.

I was wondering if I format and boot + clean install XP onto Partition C:, will I be able to open Partition D: and locate my files/drivers when I am on the new XP OS. (Even though Partition D: is not formatted during XP installation...)

Thanks!

One Quick thing to note you may want to check first if this was a vista installed pc that you can get xp drivers for it this comes back to bite a lot of people with newer pc's...
