DVI cable for monitor?

I know very little about computers. Got a new computer with a LG w2252tq monitor. When it starts up "analog" comes on the upper right hand corner for a few seconds before it dissapears. I'm not sure if my monitor is digital or analog. So if I hook up a DVI cable would that be a digital signal? If so where would a good place to buy one? Best buy wanted about a $100.00.... thanks for the help..........

No that's normal. Mine starts up in Analog. No worries. And I have mine running threw an DVI cable. Your fine.

100 dollars for a DVI cable??!?! WHAT?!
 
Yea, proply a typo. Hmm well now I'm a little confused. My gpus came with a HDMI adapter. I thought if it was running threw a DVI PORT you were getting the DVI clarity. So perhaps if I hook up my HDMI adapter and run a hdmi cable to my monitor. it shall be clearer. not like I need too but still.
