SLI advice and V Card advice?

just a simple question, i haven't really read anything new about it for a while. in my opinion 5 extra FPS doesn't justify the cost, and that's the results i see from a lot of benchmarking on games that take advantage of the technology.

i want to know, because i'm gonna do a couple upgrades soon on my computer, and make my current computer a DAW. i have spare ram (2gigs g.skill) but need to buy a Mobo, Graphics Card, and CPU. i need to know if it's worth it, so i know what kinda board i'm lookin for.

the last time around, i was kinda on a budge, this time i'm going to spend more but i'm not looking to go nuts either.

heres the card i was looking at, going to drop a little more on the Card than CPU or Mobo.

i'm aiming for a 1GB memory card, so i can max out GTA4 settings. i know stupid just for one game, but i usually double my VRAM every upgrade so...

I think the 280 isn't worth it. Either grab the 295 or SLi with 260 c216s.
unless the person is getting a i7 and a core 2 quad extreme then SLI'ing 260's will bottleneck the chip and reduce framerates.

none of the GTX card are worth the price for a 19inch LCD, save yourself money and get a couple of 9800GT'shttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130440, $180 cheaper, uses a lot less power and less heat. what CPU and mobo was you planning on getting? unless you gonna get like a 32 inch then a GTX really aint worth it
