Which would you pick?

See cause i really am stuck.

Im gonna get a single card for now, and then with my Core i7 (X58 Chipset) system, ill CF/SLI it...

Single card, the GTX 260 is the winner, but what about multi GPU?

SLI (GTX260 C216) or Crossfire (4870 1Gb)?

That's a really tough call. The GTX 295 is basically two GPUs stuck together, and they're each a little better than the 260, little worse than the 280, and it totally beats the 4870x2. So two 260 core 216s is probably going to be on par with two 4870 1gb.

Yikes. I think it really comes down to brand preference at this point, price, and benchmarks in the games YOU want to play.

Games I want to play are:

Far Cry 2
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty : World at War
Fallout 3

Crysis

I play all thos games, and Crysis is just a once in a while thing, but if i can play it, why not...

See thats my predicament.

SLI scales better with Far Cry and Crysis, whereas CF with CoD's and Fallout...

i think 4870 might be the way to go...

There pretty close. I personally have the GTX 260 C216. Very beautiful cards. Ran everything i threw at it with ease.

thing i dont like with some sites is that they are very Biased...

So some sites say CF is better, while others have SLI.

and as i said, these are the games i care about:

Far Cry 2 - SLI wins
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Crossfire wins
Call of Duty : World at War - Some say Crossfire, some say SLI
Fallout 3 - Crossfire wins
Crysis SLI wins

so im in a pickle...

I dont know what to do, argh   :(

Either card will be fine...I have a single GTX 260 Core 216 and it crushes anything I can throw at it. I am running a 22" Samsung 2253 monitor at 1680x1050 resolution and I play all my games maxed everything you can smooth as silk.

I average over 80 FPS in Call of Duty 4. Over 70 FPS in Call of Duty World at War.

With the Far Cry 2 benchmark tool in the program files I average 44.58 FPS. That is with everything on Ultra High and Very High with 8xAA (everything maxed) running the long benchmark with 3 loops.

This is a card that performs for a good price...I got mine from Newegg on sale for $240 with a copy of Far Cry 2 and 3Dmark Vantage.
