which 1 u prefer??
- radeon x1950
- radeon x1900
- radeon x1800
- gforce 8600gts
- gforce 8600gt
i need it to play extreme game like COD 4, Bioshock, etc. and my PCI slot is 16x not PCI 2.0 or higher..
my pc spec :
intel core 2 duo E7200 @2.53ghz with 2gb of ram..

whats your budget? because none of those cards are really good, the 8600 gts should be the best, but if you can, get a 8800gt/9800gt(depending on price) because they're basicly the same

Yea, those are all pretty outdated.

Seems like you're a midstream gamer, so I'd recommend the 4670 from ATI. It performs like two 8600's and is pretty dang cheap, also it doesn't require any extra power.

$70 4670 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814140095

If you wanna spend a bit more, then go with a 9800GT as noob said, just be aware they require an extra PCI-E 6-Pin power connector.

$125 9800GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130435

Go to gpureview.com to compare the specs of each of the cards you're considering against each other.

You can, it just wont run at full speed...

but you can...

Just make sure whatever card you buy, that you have sufficient power (If you gonna buy a PSU, Corsair is the way to go)

I recommend a Radeon 4670 as well, it's a kickass performer and consumes very little power (my 380Watt CoolerMaster powers that thing fine along with a Phenom X3 and 2 HDs + all the other stuff). It doesn't even require a separate power connector...

Also, the Radeon 4xxx CPUs handle AA and AF really well - I have all my games maxed out and my framerates are vsync limited.
