Had a question about the Blackberry Storm?

Hi again, long time. I wanted to ask you guys a question about the Blackberry Storm. I knew for awhile that you can plug a laptop into a cell phone and use it as a wireless modem. However, it's extremely slow. The Storm also adverstises that you can plug a laptop into the phone for internet access. My question is what speed would you expect from a laptop connected to a Storm?

I know it's a smart phone and it has access to the 3G network which gives you a few hundred kb/s. Would I expect to get the same if I accessed the internet from a laptop connected to it? Thanks.

Tethering on 3G is not going to be as fast as normal high speed internet through DSL or anything but would be fast enough for normal use. I wouldnt advise gaming with it or doing any heavy downloading. Just make sure that you get a blackberry plan that includes tethering!

I know 3G won't be as fast as my home broadband internet connection but if I "tether" a laptop to my 3G phone will I at least get a few 100 kb's? Just enough to use Internet Explorer and maybe watch some streaming video's? I wasn't aware that you needed to update your data plan to use your phone in such a way.

Thanks. :)

My Iphone over 3g hits 1.6mbs. I have not tried yet to tether but I don't' see why I couldn't get that on the computer while tethered.
