CHECK your SEAGATE drives!!

You scared me for a second there, I just bought 4 500Gig Seagate drives, but thankfully my model number is not listed.

Shit, of course my hard drives are listed in there, but I don't have any problems. Do I still have to upgrade firmware? I don't know how. :o

I never do. You should if there's an important fix. Flashing the firmware on a HD is similar to BIOS flash, I believe.

Man I so thought my drive was posted...

last 4 digits didn't match but boy was I having a "SOB" moment for second.

i have a recently new 250Gb Seagate drive thats been the cause of my system slowdown, ive recently installed windows to a Western digital 400Gb and its super fast.

do you think this article also has something to do with my drive?

Well it shows drives at the bottom that are effected...perhaps you should check your model number see if its on the list.

I don't think so. This update is about drives that become inaccessable due to a firmware bug. Slowness is caused by something else.

i checked and my model number doesnt match those mentioned,i ran the Seatools for windows application which tests your seagate drive and mine passed all tests so it must be okay.

i only keep data on this drive now,not use it as primary.
