Wireless internet connection problem for laptop!!

For some reason my laptop cannot connect to wireless network that does not have a password on it. It says that the setting saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. I can only connect to security-enabled network. I think it has something to do with the security set on my laptop but i dont know how to take it off. Anybody know what is wrong with it? Any comment or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
 
i would first try to erase that prior setting that is saved for the unsecure network. also just a side note:
it is better to connect to secure networks.
 
hmmm not sure anymore. the driver that i was using before let me do it before. but now that i have windows manage it i dont know where to do that.........
