Q9450 Overclocking Thread

The FSB (QDR) and mulitplier is how you change the CPU speed.
I'll post my settings tomorrow for the NB and chipset. Since were both running Quads on the same board. That'll leave you with just the FSB and vCore to mess with.

To get stable at 3.4, all I did was raise the CPU voltage to 1.375 in the BIOS. The actual voltage in CPU-Z was around 1.31. Didn't make any other changes besides the FSB speed, which was set at 425 w/ a 8X multiplier.

Did you leave all the FSB, NB and Chipset voltages at Auto?

But you don't know what it's setting them to. Which isn't cool.

His CPU may or may not need a NB/Chipset voltage increase. Remember, no two systems overclock the same way, even with the same parts.

Hm, OK, I'll mess around with it, I changed the settings to the list I posted on the last page, which gave me a missing BOOTMGR message, lol.

Should I leave everything to auto except the memory unlink, FSB and voltage?

And how do I figure out what clock to set them at? I think my E8400 was 1600 or something for 3.6..

Thanks.
