So ran in to another problem!
Of course the computers been sitting for about 6 months and was previously reformated. Of course who ever reformatted it had to use a burnt XP cd so now I've run in to the genuine verification process. However my Aunt has a XP proffessional cd for her other computer and we want to use it for this one. Is there a way to use that cd key or do I have to get the cd and reformat the computer? Thanks a lot,
MrNah

that depends on the version of XP installed on the computer originally. also, I cant remember if there is an option for you to enter a new cd key if the current one is invalid. you can try. (been a really long time since i had the same problem)

I have cool tool where you can open and it will go into the registry really wuickly and get the xp-reg code. I'll send it to you if you post your email.

You can use one key at a time on one computer. So, if you transfer this key from your Aunt's computer to the computer you have sitting around, then the license on your Aunt's computer can no longer be used.

If he needs to find the key, he can use this tool. Also, please do not ask other members for their email address. If you have any advice to offer, post it publicly in a thread.
