which processor?

You need to answer some questions first:

why are you looking at these outdated processors?

What do you plan to do with this pc?

Some of my clients consider cheap to be ~1000 some ~200, you need to be a bit more specific. If it's amd that you are looking for, i can't help you.

My $0.02...

I just built (within the last couple of weeks) two "new" twin computers for my Wife and I. I didn't get the most expensive hardware but I did review the equipment I purchased. We are both avid gamers but not too extreme. Here's the specs on the twins...

2 - Apevia MicroATX Desktop Cases w/500W PS's
2 - ASUS M3N78-VM MOBO's
2 - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 Brisbane (Heatsink & Fan included)
2 - OCZ Platinum 4 GB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2
2 - XFX GeForce 8500 GT's w/512MB (in Hybrid SLI mode on MOBO)
2 - Seagate 500GB SATA-II HD's
2 - ASUS DVD/CD Burners
2 - Acer 22" LCD Widescreen Monitors

Total ticket w/ shipping...~$1,500.00

To me...the speed is in the video and memory and that's where I kept my focus. There are others out there with higher demands but for the high end games I like, these rigs are performing awesome. I'll see about posting the pics of the builds.

P.S. Equipment purchased from Newegg.com
