No internet when using phone

If i get a call, or use my phone, i get temporarily disconnected from my internet connection. Ive had this problem for a long time and its very annoying. I'll be playing an online game, and suddenly become disconnected. I do not think this is a problem with my computer since i just upgraded, and both computers have the same problem. If it matters, i use wireless internet through a router. My phone is supposed to be "interference free" which I'm guessing means it shouldn't interfere with internet connections? Is there a solution to this? Thanks

Do you have filters installed on all your phones? If you do then you need to contact your phone company and have them look at it.

might? if your getting cut off during a phone call then you are probably using Dial up internet. there is no problem, its just the internet.

He says he's using wireless internet through a router. You can't be using dialup with a router.

Are you on crack? I used Dial-Up with WiFi all the time back in the day. It's easy to use dial-up and WiFi.

1.) Computer dials in and connects.
2.) Computer shares connection with router.
3.) Router distributes connection over WiFi.
4.) Other devices connect to WiFi signal, and are on dial-up internet.

I hope you're being an idiot on purpose.

Ok, i am using DSL.

As for filters, i think i just threw one out the other day because it was just lying around. I'll go see if i can find a filter. So would not having one be the problem?

Thanks

Yeah, anything is possible. You need filters on every phone that is hooked up to your dsl line.

Yeah similar instances of this problem I've seen were all due to the filters not being hooked up on all phone lines.

Idiot how? By calling another member a crack head? I admit that was uncalled for. Other than that what I said was factual, shortened maybe, but truth.

If you want to go at a snails pace go right ahead, you would be stupid to.

Well let's see. When I did this I had just graduated Air Force tech school and all I had was my laptop and wireless router. I didn't feel like being tied to the modem all day at my parents house so I used this option instead. My parents at the time did not have DSL so dialup was my only option. That's how I know it can be done

Do you use a 2.4 gHz cordless telephone when it disconnects you?

I have found the same problem and found a 5.8 gHz for the same price.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help everyone, but i cant seem to get the filter installed. It doesn't lock onto the phone jack. Ive been searching the internet for instructions but couldn't find any. Is there some method for installing this?

yeah there should be a screw hole in the back that you can mount a screw in above your phone jack if not use duble sided tape or somthing
