I going to buy a new i7 rig with my tax return but i was curious what power supply i would need for x2 9800 gtx + or if i should get a 260 gtx or something along those line

I'd say go for 1 GTX 260. Or maybe a 4870. With the way technology is moving today SLi hardly seems worth it.

I don't know about the other cards that people have mentioned but SLI has been working out great for me so far. The way I look at it is that 2 cards are better than one. The 1 card may have more power but having 2 cards is like having a 2 lane highway compared to a 1 lane super highway.
