Windows 7, What ya think?

So, What does people think of Windows 7? I am using it and just lovein it!!! Cant wait till the final comes out.... It blows Vista away... Post your comments.
 
I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and so far it is not bad. Loaded avast home free version of anti-virus. runs great.
 
When I first got it I was impressed. It used far less memory and cpu usage. But I was hoping for a different interface and maybe a new way it would operate. And I have had a few problems with my laptop since the install of the Beta (understandable since it is a Beta) which I'm sure half will be fixed upon the release and the other half with a SP1 a year or so after it's release. I'm not saying I dislike windows but I am done with them for a while since I have switch to Linux to try a new OS.
 
Its ok, liked it at first but the more I used it I got the impression thats its just a Vista SP. Cant believe they are going to make people pay for it. It should be a Vista SP.

7 is alot better than Vista, but like you said i really think that Microsoft should have made this a SP because people purchased Vista and even after SP1 and updates its still a pile of crap.

Again they are thinking of how much profit they’re going to make, not ohh we should compensate those who we have failed with Vista.

i bet when 7 is released it will cost just as much as Vista did at launch if not more :cool:

If only Xp ws to make a comeback with DX10 and decent X64 bit drivers eh?

Thank god I didnt buy Vista :D I got both XP Pro and Vista Business free from my uni. I used vista a bit, but didnt really like it, though I do have it on my laptop. I hope they have changed 7 so that it isnt too much like vista... IMO they have tried too hard to make it user friendly and in turn made it less user friendly... well...especially for us technically minded people.

Ill prob buy windows 7 when it comes out, purely cause XP will be by then (hopefully) a thing of the past. but hopefully I can get it from my uni :D heeh

Exactly, they did the same thing with 98 by selling 98SE and ME when they were no more than updates/fixes/addons. Well with ME there were so many addons they ruined 98.

I have heard if you buy Vista after a certain date that you will be able to get 7 upgrade for free. Just heard, dont know if its true or not.

Is the poll necessary?

I love it so far. It's like the love child of Vista and XP. Plus the new features are pretty damn handy, I actually use them quite a bit. It also runs so bloody fast on my laptop, and also quite well on my little EEE that could. I could be another one to say it's what Vista should have been, but does anyone remember the transition from 95 to 98? Or is that exempt because of the naming scheme? :P
My point is suck it up, Vista was good while it lasted

I dunno guys... I think Vista pushed me to buy my Mac(not MAC, that's an identifier for a NIC). My desktop dual boots Vista x64 and Ubuntu, the Mac runs 10.5, and my laptop does Ubuntu and Vista x86. I have seen 7 but I haven't tested it for myself yet. I am pulling away from Windows or trying to anyway.
 
It was awesome for the first couple days, and it's still better than Vissta, XP, and the earlier releases, but I prefer Mac... Linux is about on the same level as 7 for me.
 
It's alright we will see how much MS charges for it. I don't want to drop another $150 on an OS upgrade

MS should really make the Vista to 7 upgrade less expensive than previous upgrades... $50 sounds about right, maybe even less considering how similar to Vista it is. :P

I like it about just as much... each one for different reasons of course... Linux is "da bomb" for security, while if I need Windows, which I often do, I'll gladly take 7. :)
 
I also want it just like Windows XP, Home and Pro where Home has limited networking features and a reduced price and Pro has everything, or how about Windows 7......period.....thats it.....all-in-one

All these basic, home premium, business, ultimate is bull crap. HOME AND PRO is All we need for categorizing things.
