.... is x64 bit
.... has "alot" of prebundled programs with it
.... sleek GUI which looks clean and impressive

Computer requirements aren't too big of a deal, but what they are is a dual core 2.8 amd with 4 gigs of RAM, 256 video card and 40 gig IDE HD.

Any winners? I really liked Dream Linux but would like a x64 bit release.

Not sure why you want 64bit so much, but I like Ubuntu... it's not too pretty right out of the box but it's not bad when you configure it...

It's not all that bad when you fix it up though. :P You could also try Kubuntu with KDE4... that's nice and pretty out of the box, but it's a bit buggy right now.

i would go with the X64 bit version of Suse, looks sweet right out of the box.

if not then go with the x64 bit of Ubuntu like Irishwhistle mentioned.

I liked Linux Mint a little bit more than the regular Ubuntu. It's basically the same thing, but makes it a little easier because it has bundled Multimedia Codecs already installed. I also thought the included themes made it seem like a different distro than Ubuntu.

There is a 64-bit version, but it's not a stable release yet. Right now it's a Release Candidate. If that's something that would bug you, maybe Ubuntu might be good for you.

There are hundreds of thousands of different distros. You're going to have to check them all out. Ubuntu, Suse, Fedora Core, Puppy Linux, etc. See what fits your needs.

Um... imho that's actually pretty ugly... but then I think Vista and XP are ugly... SuSE with KDE4 is cool though.

Hey I would have to say that the one that looks most impressive to me is Ubuntu and it has a few programs that come with it and the GUI is great.

But any distribution of Linux may all border around the same main theme

realy? i actualy like Suse right out of the box,its clean looking and easy to use.

Xp is definatly ugly right out the box, although its nice when themed.

Linux Mint fits those requirements perfectly. It's basically a Ubuntu sexed up and bundled with codecs and other stuff that usually are a paint to set up. Being based on pretty much the most popular Linux distro, you've got a great community too...
