Think your crossfire setup is impressive?

Octofire, baby!

So, what do you think?
I personally plan on having a setup this intense by the end of the summer.

That's a big waste of money. I use only one card since I don't have much money and my motherboard doesn't support crossfire or SLI. BTW where do you get a quad crossfire/SLI motherboard anyway?

That is just overkill! Im not even sure you could utilise a setup like that? Either you can't or it'd take a hell of a lot of effort to...lol

I bet you anything the 3rd card does not help performance one bit, maybe a few percentage points but that's it. The 4th card might even hinder performance and slow it down with stability issues. I'd like to see what the benchmarks look like with that monster:)

Can you imagine folding with that thing? You would be cranking out work units in about 2 minutes!

personally i would rather have the 4870 in crossfire than 4 cards, i think you reach a point then it gets silly and that point is in the picture...

If you really wanna get that itense why not just two 4870x2's?
You would still have your 4 cards in a way it would be two 4870's crossfired per 4870x2.

I read something about 9.6 teraflops somewhere!
This has gotta be a joke though. I was already planning on buying that mobo though. I'll probably just end up getting the best AMD card in crossfire.

It looks awesome, I'm not gonna lie.

BUT it's a complete waste of money. I'd give it to you if it was just 2x Crossfire. But 4x? That's two more cards and a whole lot bigger power supply you need to have. And all of this just to be replaced in a year or less when DX11 comes out...

But again, I know extreme enthusiasts do this all the time, and it's nice cause you get to beat everybody's 3dmark06

Yea those cards look like single core cards so it would be only quad.
I would rather have something like this: 3 GTX285's with a 9800gt for physx (2 295's are not better)

Yeah I noticed they were single gpu cards just now. But they were discussing how 4 3870x2s could be done.
