i've got GF 9600GT 512MB and C2D E7200 @ 2.53GHz
should i overclock the CPU to avoid slowing down the GFX?

I don't think you have to worry about that CPU slowing down that card. Maybe the other way around if anything. Now I'm pretty sure my P4 is slowing down my 4870 though.. lol

i've heard that there is some kind of benchmark verifying, whether your gfx is slowed down by cpu... do you know any?

Why ya have such a lousy video card? Ya can grab a new 2GB 9600GT on NewEgg for like $130, or upgrade to a 9800GT if ya don't want more vRAM.

its not lousy at all. i have one and i max out all my games, except for crysis and stalker: clear sky.

well, i must admit that it appears to lousy... i have 22" monitor (1680x1050) so crysis and mirro's edge tend to hang up at max details... but the other games like assassin, grid or cod4 run perfectly all right... i'm really looking forward to replace it wiyh some 9800gtx or hd4850 at the end of this year...

Yeah my card stutters with Crysis (Obviously) and also a tad with mirrors egde.

I'd say it's the GPU, I used to have a 9600GT, and can safely say this 4850 I have now is quite a bit better

I can max out GRID @ 1920 X 1200 8AA 16AF, I know I wouldn't be able to do that with my old GT. Back then I was playing at 1440 x 900 16AA 16AF Max Settings IIRC
