so i upgraded from vista 64-bit instead of creating a partition because im most likely gonna buy windows 7 when it comes out but theres a problem with it right now. it doesnt recognize my dvd burner, so i cant play crysis or my rainbow six vegas 2 games and i was wondering how i should unistall windows 7 so i can go back to vista. should i just back up my files then reinstall from the disk and then delete any windows 7 files that are left on the hard drive? im a noob when it comes to this so much help appreciated:D

alright so what do you guys think i should do. buy a new dvd burner for 24.99 free shipping or buy a 250gb hard drive with 16mb cache for 40$. i could just get the dvd burner which is the main problem but if i bought the hard drive i would have 250 gb more space and i could just use vista 64 bit. i only have one hard drive right now so i cant back up my computer which is why im considering the hard drive.

Why don't you just get both, so that way you have a new hdd and a new burner.:D

Just format the Windows 7 partition and reinstall Vista on that partition. What's the total size of the files you need to backup? You could copy everything to a USB flash drive, if you have one large enough.
