Gateway FX vs ASUS

Hey all,
There's a thread about gaming laptop but I felt I need to make another thread specifically for those 2.
I never had Gateway computers but just found out that it actually has good rating.

I bought my ASUS G50VT-X6 from newegg for about 1400 dollars. I love it.

I am in the market for another one for my brother and I am just wondering if I should get Gateway.

Videocard: Gateway 9800M GTS > ASUS 9800GS
CPU: ASUS 2.53 ghz > Gateway 2.26 ghz

Are those CPU values significant and worth extra 100 dollars? (Price of my ASUS dropped about 150 dollars over a month.)

I just like to hear options and so forth.

Also I heard that new OS from MS is coming out. Is it worth waiting for it to be on new laptops or no?

yeah for gaming. it will be hooked up to a monitor with separate keyboard/mouse etc.
the laptop will be used as "storage"

so gateway FX series? is it superior over 9800GS?

Yeah it is, and about your OS question I think MS is giving everyone a free thing for Windows 7 for anyone who buys a PC with Windows Vista. I'm pretty sure you can just make the fan speed of the gateway CPU go up, and then you can overclock it to 2.53 Ghz. Although I've never done it on a laptop, I've seen it done before.
