Getting another 10/100 switch

I'm going to be picking up another 10/100 switch for my LANs. I currently use one 24 port D-Link, and sometimes some smaller switches. I was wondering if I should get another 24 port, or get a few smaller switches to place around more. I'll probably pick them up at Microcenter.

Thanks.

Do you plan on connecting this switch to the one you have now?

Yes I do, I think I should get a few smaller port switches.

Thanks.

Well, a few smaller switches might be okay. I am one of those people who emphasize simplicity though. I would think two(24p) switches with a crossover cable would be awesome. You can support 46 users and you might not have that many but you'd be able to expand.

If it were me, I would buy another switch and a couple WAPs. You can get a few users on wireless with no problem and if they complain send them the wire.

Well, I'd be using them for a LAN party, and we have 2 rooms, so if I go with 1 24 and multiple smaller switches, there wouldn't be as many wires, and I'd be able to put people in different areas. I also don't want to deal with wireless, I'm keeping it all wired.

Thanks.

Oh well in that case, I don't blame you for wanting to control your wires. I would be a jerk and make people bring their own wires.:P

what i ment to say was don't put them in sequence to much. Just keep it like this: router - mainswitch - subswitches. hard to explain you know what i mean?

Ah, alright, yeah, I see what you're talking about. I'm probably going to buy two of those D-Links.

Edit: I just bought two of those D-Links.
