HI, Im thinking about buying a dvi/hdmi cable to hook my pc up to my 37" hdtv. My question is, will it give me any considerable improvement in resolution and text quality? All i'm using right now is an s-video. The text quality when I browse the internet or use microsoft word is terrible with the s-video.

I'm not absolutely positive, but my guess is yes. What I can tell you though, is that HDMI has far superior quality to S-Video. Keep in mind that your PC and TV have to be within relatively close proximity of each other. As far as I can remember, I think HDMI cables have a limit of like...10 feet or so.

dude, the difference in quality will be day and night! text will be crystal clear! i hooked my lappy to an HDTV via HDMI, and it was amazing :D

no, an HDMI can run 1080P up to 87(?) feet, and i have run a couple of 100ft HDMIs, but they had inline splice boxes. the only draw back of a long hdmi is the cost - its outragious. make sure to buy online, and NOT at bestbuy or the like because you will get ripped off!!! meritline.com has decent prices on HDMI cables.
