Router as a wireless Access Point

I have a Verizon Wireless Westell Wireless gateway in one corner of my house that all the computers are hard wired to. Right now I'm using my Netgear Wireless router as a switch, but what I want to know is can I make the netgear router into a wireless access point and use it as a switch at the same time?

Yeah, just enable the wireless support on it and see what happens.
