Just wondering what Operating systems people are running these days as their MAIN OS and if alot of people are still using 32 bit or made the jump to 64 bit.

Had a quick search in the forums and couldnt see a poll so im sorry if there is already one.

anyway we could do with an updated one

What they say about the drivers is somewhat true. Do your home work on drivers before you buy it. The only real problem is my web cam. Ordered a new one coming Friday, has windows xp x64 drivers for it. Some software problems to, but that is due to the software companies not doing the updates on them. Otherwise I really like it. I would wait for windows 7 tho, really starting to like it.

Ubuntu 32 bit, excellent OS, fast and reliable. Plus for my needs to record my guitar music you can't beat ubuntu studio.

My main one is OS X, it goes like this:

Laptop (MacBook): Mac OS X and Vista (which is hardly ever used because I hate it)
PC (the one in my sig): Windows XP, trying to get OSx86 on it
iMac: OS X and Vista (in a virtual machine)

on my PC Vista Ultimate 64, but only for DX 10 support. Otherwise the rest of my computers are Macs, with one exception. I do have another PC that runs XP, but it is a headless media box that just runs music and movies to my TV. I haven't had time to wipe it out and convert it to my new media box. I have a C2D e6300 and motherboard lying around doing nothing so I was going to rebuild my media box. Most likely it will run some sort of Linux as I don't want to pay for an OS.

I am using Windiws XP version only becasue it is what I have. I would love to run OSX (any one) or Linux because I think they may run better than windows XP but on my laptop right now XP runs good
