Incorrect Memory Count

yes..........on the other hand i did hear someone say even with 32 bit the memory will be used. you just can't see it. would anybody else know if this is true or not?

I have read that somewhere...it was in a PC magazine and they were talking to a Microsoft person, they say it does not see it but it will be fully used. I will see if I can find the article and throw it up here:D

Are you sure? I am installing x64 bit right now, I would prefer to stay with 32 bit because I know there will be some problems.
 
You could try another 64bit OS? I'm running Vista 64-bit, and it's awesome. People say it's a RAM hog, but "memory that isn't used is wasted memory" according to some threads I've read on forums.
 
Maximum RAM Allowed for Windows XP 32bit

What is the maximum RAM allowed? I have read that it is under 4GB, but there are also some, more than one source, who have mentioned that it is merely a display error and it does utilize RAM above 4GB. I currently have 8GB of RAM, wondering if I should get xp 64 bit instead. I would much rather stay with xp 32 bit.
