8800 gts

well no specific one in mind but it beats most of them as you can see

and it depends on which GTS you have. the 320 and 640 models really aren't that powerful anymore... both are outclassed by the GT.
 
Referring to the classification, I just wanted to know if the 8800GTS really is better than all those other cards that it is classified above.
 
No, it's not. Many 8800GT's perform better than the GTX 320/640 model. The 9600GT, when overclocked can perform up to the level on a 8800GT, so could possibly beat the 8800GTS. The 9800GT is basically an 8800GT so that could beat it as well. And the 9800GTX is a great card, and performs better than the 8800GTX 320/640. The 320/640 models use old architecture compared to the other cards. I don't know how or why NVidia ordered the cards like that.
 
The memory size, memory bus and memory bandwidth is better on the 8800GTS though and those are important factors.
 
Yes, but check benchmarks. I'm not saying that the 8800GTS is a bad card, but it does not perform better than all of the cards below it on that chart.
