I was under the impression that if you purchase vista after a certain date, you are eligible for a free upgrade to windows 7 when it is released. Is this true?

Not really sure. I dont think I would "upgrade" until well after the release and all the bugs get identified and worked out

Not yet. Seems pretty straight forward and if i need any help I can always get it here

There's guides all over the internet. Here's one of our official guides...

I believe this only applies to certain prebuilt machines, not the system builders license purchased from newegg.

For a few dollars more you might as well upgrade to a LightScribe, you won't notice it with your 950 dollar bill :D

I chose against that. I just imagined how many DVD's my 7 year old daughter would waste just to make them look pretty. She uses enough Dvds now with her laptop and webcam....lol

You could always sharpie out the lightscribe logo . . . . .

Just kidding, I suppose it's best you don't go with lightscribe then. :P

Preparation preparation....Ive cleaned out the area my kids use for crafts in the basement. Its a wooden table on a concrete floor so i should have little to worry about static discharge. Tools laid out waiting for the UPS man to deliver the goods

That looks like a good area. I used a countertop roughly the same size, maybe a little longer for my first build. Stay organized and keep your work area clean. It'll go much faster. It took me 12 hours to build my first rig. It was a SLI setup with three hard drives in the Antec 900. Not a lot of room to work with in the 900, so that probably slowed me down a little, plus I had all my components, retail boxes, screws...etc, all over the place, so, again, keep everything clean and organized.

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll do fine. ;)

Yea being organized seems like a definate plus for your first build. Im going out tomorrow to get some wire ties and black electrical tape. I want to be ready to go when everything arrives. Im shooting for 2-3 days for this. Just taking my time and reading all the relevant instructions before i do anything. And im sure dropping a post or two in here when i get stuck. :)
