Found out about this on the bbc news website, some of you may know it but i'd thought id tell others about.
anywho the software is question in called Spotify, its a free music streaming service the allows you to listen to music for free. Dont worry its fully legal and, from what i can gather, the record companys like it and encourage it because they get money from adverts, one automaticly gets play every 20 mins (or there abouts) and from premium memberships which give you ad free music and costs £9.99.

Personly i think its an awesome idea. the software is great, fast at loading tracks, no lag, great sound quality and its good for older systems as it uses less than 20Mb of system memory.

I wish they would do the same thing for movies but who knows, that might be in the pipelines, fingers cross.

love to know what you guys think on this.

Edit: sadly it only available in some european countries, but give it time :D

Yahoo Radio does this already! And has done for years. You can listen to preset stations or create your own. You answer some questions and it picks out some music for you, then you rate each song as it plays (if you want) to help it specify music for you.

You also have deezer that streams music - works like a music player library.

Both legal and free! Doug.

Yeh spotify´s not bad. My mate in London gave me free registration.
At the moment they don´t have a full database , they are waiting for the labels to open their archives.
In theory, fantastic, because you can hear the music before you buy it. It could also have an adverse affect on the music industry, as you will probably only buy the songs you like, and not the whole compact as you did before on the back of one good song.

Just use Rhapsody. You get 25 free plays per month (free account) and you can download any song at any time for $0.99.

25 free plays per month is a joke..I mean seriously.

Plus what about "download any song at any time for $0.99" is free?

Not trying to flame you or anything, but think before you post something that costs money in a thread about free stuff.
