In my add & rmv prog. I have the following;
Microsoft.net framework 1.1
" " 1.1 hot fix
" " 2.0 service pack 2
" " 3.0 service pack 2
" " 3.5 service pack 1
My question is can I remove any of these, specifically the older ones?

Nope, don't do it. Those are needed for some, if not most, Win32 apps to function.

/\E I completely disagree. I only have one program installed on my computer that needs .net framework and that's SyncToy2.0. Up untill I started using SyncToy I never installed it. .net framework is like Jave in that it's a program language developers can write software in. There is no reason a Win32 program needs it unless it's written in it.

I removed the 1.1 with no problem but the 2.0 it would not let me uninstall, says it's REQUIRED. Thanks

Agree with lawson jl, Only specific programs will need net framework and usually when downloading them it will flash up if it's not on your system. I have CDBurnerXP that uses version 2 but I haven't installed previous or latest net framework versions.
