Make me appear as if I was located elsewhere

Hi there!

Some web pages require you to be located in a specific country, to view specific content.. In this case i'm talking about www.heroestheseries.com, where you can watch every episode of Heroes - IF you are from USA..
The problem is, that I'm in Denmark.. So I was wondering if there is a way that I can "cheat" my way to the page, so i appear to be at a computer in USA, and thereby watch the content?

Thanks..

Sorry, i'm not really into this stuff.. :o I don't really know how proxy works, nor what it's used for :P
If there is a way, can someone please direct me to or write a step-by-step guide? :)
Thanks..

EDIT: I just read a bit about it, and I saw this: "A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server"
So I figured that I could try to find a public proxy server located in the US.. i found www.emailthru.com and entered the URL to the video I wished to watch, but it still said that I need to be in the US :/

Proxies can be discussed at CF. We eliminated the rule against discussing them awhile ago. Go ahead and post your reply. :)

Why ban proxy talk if I can ask?

Get a lot of "hey I wanna DOS CF...whats the best proxies to use" threads come up often? :P

Proxy is simply a server that you can communicate through; if you're using a proxy, all traffic is relayed through it i.e. when you visit a site, they won't get your IP but rather the IP of the proxy you're using. Just find a proxy that's based in the US and badabim badabum - you're a good rolemodel US citizen to them!

As far as actually setting your browser up to use a proxy... what browser are you using? With IE it's located somewhere in Internet Option. In Firefox, go to Tools/Edit (I think it's in Tools in the Windows version) ->settings/preferences (forgot which one it's called in windows) -> Advanced ->Network ->Settings and then just select manual proxy settings (the settings are usually given at the website of whatever proxy you're using).

That or to hack or get around network security settings which would other wise break a companies or organizations AUP.
