Hello. I'm looking for a new laptop computer and I know nothing about the mechanics of computers so I don't know which brand is better ect ect. I know for sure that I will never again purchase a Dell IMO they suck, I have had bad luck with both Dells i have had. I don't do much gaming but I do a lot of photography and photography editing along with loads of music. The only game I really play is the sims and right now the computer I have can't handle it anymore I don't know if its because of all the expansion packs and I don't have enough hard drive or what but thats all i do along with going on the internet alot. I don't know how much hard drive space I need for what I do. The most I can afford is $1,500-$2,000 if i need to go that high.

Thanks.

for your needs, i would suggest a Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz or more and 4gb of RAM. i dont suppose you would need a very good graphic card for what you're doing (im not very sure about laptop graphic so gota wait for others' comments). as for hard disk, i think 320gb would be sufficient for now. you can visit here to check out the options

Thanks for the help. i know the graphics card in my current laptop isn't too great because when i did play sims after a while the screen would turn blue and freeze and then some objects would turn black but this thing is like 3 years old so the graphics cards in the newer computers are going to be alot better now then 3 years ago right?

Thanks that website is perfect. You suggested Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz what is the difference between that and AMD?? Because I saw a few AMD on there for what seems to be a good price? Is AMD better? Or if i were to get AMD is there a certain type i should makre sure to get?

i think intel or amd is a matter of preference. the best option would be to find a processor that is of a certain speed that serve your purpose well. single cores CPU would not be so efficient in the future so i would suggest finding a dual-core CPU, either intel or AMD.

edit: just one other thing. you should wait for other people's comments before purchasing anything. dont make purchase base on my opinion alone :)

I will always recommend Sager laptops...amazing computers from a great company. I have had mine for 2 years now and have not once regretted buying it. Great customer service also.

Here is a nice computer, 45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300, 250GB 7200rpm Hard Drive, Blue Ray drive, 17" WUXGA LCD (1920x1200), 4GB Dual Channel DDR2, Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN - 802.11A/B/G/N and Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTS Graphics.
