I want to update my CPU this summer to a Phenom II

But my motherboard doesn't have Phenom II listed as a compatible CPU, just Phenom. Do I have to flash my BIOS to get it to be compatible with it? And also, if there's a better CPU than the one I listed, could someone post it please? I went for the fastest speed (3ghz) because it's more preferable; I don't want to OC until I really have to, even though it's the black edition. My motherboards using a 720a chipset.

Not strange, the board just doesnt support 125W processors. Has cheap mosfets and old style liquid caps.

What are mosfets? And are you sure about that? Because my processor uses 125W:

AMD Athlong 64 x2 6000+. Is it going to shorten my motherboards lifespan? D:

It will probably recognize it, but it really only supports the 89W X2 6000.

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 6000+ ADA6000IAA6CZ 3 GHz 2000Mhz 89W
